Merchant Initiated Payments Overview

The Merchant Initiated Payments (MIP) API enables business partners to obtain a customer’s consent to initiate future transactions on their behalf.

This functionality supports use cases such as:

  • Recurring payments (e.g. subscriptions)
  • One‑click payments, allowing a faster checkout experience without requiring the customer to log in for each transaction

Once consent is granted, transactions can be initiated by the business partner without further customer interaction.

Payment Flow Overview​

The Merchant Initiated Payment flow consists of the following three stages:

  1. Request customer consent and generate an association ID
  2. Generate a payment token using the association ID
  3. Create transactions on behalf of the customer
